AQUARIUM’S SUMMER KIDS CLUB RETURNS IN AUGUST WITH A VIRTUAL DAY CAMP EXPERIENCE FOR GRADES PRE-K TO FIVE

 

FREE live online classes with Aquarium educators and at-home activities for pre-K to fifth graders feature dance and movement, crafts, and opportunities to learn about ocean life and habitats

 

WHAT:  Kids can dive into ocean learning through dance and movement, learn about whales and fish, and explore ocean habitats during the Aquarium of the Pacific’s Summer Kids Club. The Aquarium’s Online Academy is hosting free virtual programs during Summer Kids Club that pair ocean exploration with activities such as crafts, scavenger hunts, coloring pages, and guided exploration with the Aquarium’s exhibit live webcams to view animals. You can join live and text in your questions and observations for an Aquarium educator to answer during the program. You can also watch on-demand and email your questions. No sign-ups are required, and participation is free.              

During Summer Kids Club pre-K and kindergarten-aged children can tune in at 9:00 a.m. each day for sessions that explore ocean life through dance and movement, shapes and colors, and making crafts. The 10:00 a.m. sessions will be geared toward kindergarten through second graders and feature classes on whales and fish. Third through fifth graders can tune in at 11:00 a.m. for the Tidepool Travelers and Colorful Coral Reef programs to explore these ocean habitats.

The half-hour online classes led by an Aquarium educator will be offered each day for various grade levels and will take the place of the Online Academy that week. Summer Kids Club will include English-Spanish programming on Wednesday, August 3, at 10:00 a.m., and the at-home activity for this day is in both languages.

WHEN:           Monday, August 1, to Friday, August 5, 2022

(30-minutes classes will be held at 9:00 a.m., 10:00 a.m., and 11:00 a.m. each day weekday during the period / Spanish programming offered on Wednesday, August 3, at 10:00 a.m.)
